Guidance counselors can be extremely helpful in guiding a student in the right direction. Whether for high school students, college level students, or adults re-entering the learning world, guidance counselors can lead the student to proper apprenticeships and career guidance. This can often prevent the indecisiveness that is usually seen in individuals trying to figure out their future, and in return prevent a lot of time from being wasted. A good guidance counselor will get to know the student based on what the likes and dislikes are, and then lead them to the right areas for them personally.
