Is Anxiety Real?

As an ex anxiety sufferer I can tell you without question that the feeling of anxiety is definitely real. But what is anxiety exactly? Most people think anxiety is this feeling of fear, stress, dread and uneasiness. But these feelings are simply your bodies reaction to your beliefs. If you have two people in the identical situation one of them may feel complete peace while the other feels uncontrollable anxiety. So the situation itself doesn’t cause anxiety since not everyone feels it. Again the anxiety stems from the person thinking or believing there is danger or a threat within the situation. Therefore if the person changes their belief then they will overcome anxiety in that situation and no longer have the feelings associated with it. So I go back to my original question; is anxiety real? Or do we just believe it is?
