What Does a 1040 Tax Form Means?

The 1040 tax form is a standard tax form that can be used by taxpayers to file their yearly income. The tax form is known as the “long form” or “U.S. Individual Income Tax Return”. There are sections which will ask about taxpayer’s financial income for the previous year. Also, the tax form will determine if the taxpayer will owe taxes or receive a refund. The deadline for filing taxes is April 15 of each year. The form is composed of two pages but some taxpayers will need to include a schedule. There are different versions of the tax form depending on a person filing status.
